Supermarine Spitfire fighter plane is British military fighter plane used in WW2 1942-1945. In the early built of Spitfire plane they were losing to the newly build of Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter plane, but Rolls Rolce engineer designed a new engine V-12, piston aero engine called “Merlin” that allowed the RAF to combat the Fw 190 on equal terms.

What interesting is that both plane, Spitfire and FW 190 is using engine made by two known car maker today which is Spitfire made by Rolls Royce and FW 190 by BMW.
